BURN! is an ongoing series of currently 31 paintings by Ivan Summersky, each depicting nothing but blazing fire. The works symbolize inner growth, transformation, and the artist’s radical personal evolution. The idea for the series came from a series of vivid dreams in which Ivan was visited by a female Indigenous chief. In these visions, she gave him a spiritual mission: to paint fire — as a symbol of clarity, energy, and new beginnings.
The paintings are raw, minimalistic, and explosively colorful. They deliberately break away from decorative or easily consumable aesthetics, embracing instead a fierce, unapologetic visual language. The fire represents not only a personal rebirth but also a critical stance against a polished, market-driven art world.
The series is still growing, as Ivan continues to paint new fire works with unrelenting intensity.
